Are Banks Taking Over Morristown?!?!?!?!

What in the world is happening to all of our non-banking stores?!?!?!!?!? Driving home a couple of days ago, I noticed that Godive no longer was Godiva, it was an empty store front, waiting for a bank to come and make it it's home...

A few weeks prior to that I was walking home from Century 21 and realized that my salon was no longer there either, instead, this time a real estate agency had just taken it's place... "oh no!" I thought to myself... how in the world will I get my hair done... I did some research on the internet and called my salon - London World Salon - had moved down the road to 45 Market Street... Thank God!

I don't understand what's going on here, with all of these new condos being built and many new neighbors were getting, you'd think that they would put some bars and restaurants in, some great boutiques like La Rue Chaude... hopefully, it will still be standing in the next few months...

What Bars Are The Place To Be And Be Seen

So... after living here for a little over a year and going to quite a few of the bars that we have posted on the bar list, I have found a few of my favorites!

Pazo Pazo has to be by far my fave! I love it in the spring/summer and it's still gets a great crowd in the winter. The drinks are great... most of the bartenders have a "heavy" hand. The crowd is mixed, by my judgement, ranges from a mid twenty crowd to early forties. I don't get to make it there for the happy hour crowd but have heard that it is pretty good.

George & Marthas comes in at a close second! I hadn't been to G & M's in a while and went a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night... the crowd was AWESOME and the DJ really rocked! He played great dance music, threw in a lot good 80's songs and really got the crowd movin'... the bartenders really know how to make a drink and the guys were good lookin' and yes fellas, the ladies weren't bad themselves.

Tashmoo is another great place, especially for a pre-game type of setting. The bartenders are really nice and the crowd "ain't half bad"... there are plenty of tables to sit with friends and hang out or the bar which is spacious. I've never been when there is a DJ, if there is even one, but the music they have playing is decent... good for just chillin'

Find out why we decided to create this site...

Welcome to Around Morristown. Com!!!

My husband and I decided to create this site for people just like us! We moved here about a year ago from Hoboken because we wanted to have the joys of the suburbs but still have the city life right at our hands... We're both in our early thirties and still love partying like we're in our early twenties...

After moving here, however, we realized that Morristown isn't quite like Hoboken but still has so much night life to offer. It took us some time to find the great places to go but after a year and still trying we've found a couple that we really enjoy.

Check back regularly for things that are happening around town, great bars, great places to eat and shop, as well as my rambles!

Feel free to leave comments, questions, and any other information you may have for us :)
